Brucellosis

Overview

Brucellosis is a zoonotic infectious disease caused by Brucella bacteria. It is characterized by prolonged undulant fever, profuse sweating, joint pain, and hepatosplenomegaly.

Treatment

Treatment centers on combined, full-course sensitive antibiotics, with regular medication to prevent relapse and progression to chronic disease, and avoidance of contact with infected livestock.

Dietary advice

Strengthen nutrition with high-protein, high-vitamin, easily digestible foods, and avoid raw milk and undercooked meat.
