Epididymitis

Overview

Epididymitis presents with sudden pain and marked tenderness in the scrotum. It can affect sperm development and reduce fertility, potentially causing infertility, and mainly occurs in young and middle-aged men.

Symptoms

• Scrotal pain
• Epididymal swelling
• Fever
• Scrotal redness and swelling
• Heaviness

Treatment

In the acute phase, rest in bed, elevate the scrotum, and take a full course of antibiotics along with analgesic and anti-inflammatory treatment.

Dietary advice

Drink plenty of water, eat a light diet, and avoid spicy foods and alcohol.
