A malignant tumor developing from melanocytes. It occurs most often on the skin but can also arise in the mouth, intestines, or eyes, and may develop from an existing mole.
Symptoms
- Enlarging pigmented mole
- Uneven color
- Irregular borders
- Ulceration and bleeding
- Itching
Treatment
Treatment is mainly surgical resection, with immunotherapy and targeted therapy for advanced disease. Specialist evaluation is required.
Dietary advice
Maintain balanced nutrition with adequate high-quality protein and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to strengthen resistance.
