Overview

Tenosynovitis is inflammation of a tendon and its surrounding sheath due to repetitive friction and strain, commonly affecting the wrist and fingers. It presents with local pain, swelling, and limited movement, with common types including de Quervain's tenosynovitis and trigger finger.

• Tenderness

Treatment

Managed mainly by reducing activity of the affected area, immobilization and rest, physical therapy, and symptomatic pain relief; stubborn cases may require local injection or surgical release.
