Overview

Epidemic hemorrhagic fever, also known as hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, is a natural focal disease caused by hantavirus with rodents as the main reservoir. It is clinically characterized by fever, hemorrhage, hypotensive shock, and renal damage, with a typical five-stage course.

Symptoms

  • Headache
  • Low back pain
  • Retro-orbital pain
  • Flushing of the face and neck
  • Bleeding tendency
  • Oliguria

Treatment

Treatment centers on early detection, on-site treatment, and symptomatic support, managing the critical phases of shock, oliguria, and hemorrhage, with hospitalization and comprehensive care for severe cases.

Dietary advice

During the febrile phase eat light liquids with attention to fluid replacement; during the oliguric phase restrict water, salt, and protein, adjusting specifically per medical advice.
