Urethritis is inflammation of the urethra and a type of urinary tract infection. The most common symptom is pain or difficulty urinating (dysuria).

- Painful urination
- Frequent urination
- Urethral discharge
- Urethral itching
- Urgent urination
Treatment
Treated with sensitive antibiotics chosen according to the pathogen; sexually transmitted cases require concurrent treatment of the partner. Drink plenty of water and avoid sexual activity during treatment.
Dietary advice
Drink plenty of water and urinate frequently. Keep the diet light and avoid spicy, irritating foods and alcohol.
