Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder. It is more common in women but can affect men and women of all ages.
Symptoms
- Frequent urination
- Urgent urination
- Painful urination
- Lower abdominal heaviness
- Blood in urine
Treatment
Treated mainly with sensitive antibiotics, along with drinking plenty of water to increase urine flow and flush the urinary tract. Recurrent cases require identifying the underlying cause.
Dietary advice
Drink plenty of water and urinate frequently. Keep the diet light and avoid spicy, irritating foods, coffee, and alcohol.
