Pruritus is a skin condition with itching but no primary skin lesions. It can be triggered by dry skin, systemic disease, or environmental factors, presenting mainly as paroxysmal itching, with repeated scratching leading to secondary excoriations and pigmentation.

Treatment
Identify and remove triggers, keep the skin moisturized, take oral antihistamines to relieve itching, and avoid scratching and hot-water washing.
Dietary advice
Eat a light diet, avoid spicy foods and alcohol, drink plenty of water, and eat moistening foods.
