Chondrosarcoma

Oncology

Overview

Chondrosarcoma is a malignant tumor of cartilage-producing cells and one of the most common bone sarcomas. It arises from mesenchymal connective tissue and tends to be relatively insensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Symptoms

  • Local pain
  • Mass
  • Limited movement
  • Progressive worsening

Treatment

Complete surgical excision is the main treatment; the tumor is generally insensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, so the entire lesion must be removed.

Dietary advice

Eat a high-protein, high-calorie diet to strengthen nutrition.
