Overview

Burns are tissue injuries caused by heat, chemicals, electric current, or radiation acting on the body, mainly affecting the skin and mucous membranes. They are classified into different degrees by depth and area, and severe burns can lead to shock, infection, and multi-organ dysfunction.

Symptoms

  • Redness and swelling of the skin
  • Blisters
  • Wound pain
  • Tissue necrosis
  • Shock

Treatment

Rapidly cool the wound with cold therapy on-site and protect it, give timely fluid resuscitation for shock, and debride the wound to prevent infection and promote healing.

Dietary advice

Strengthen nutrition with a high-protein, high-calorie, high-vitamin diet, and drink plenty of water to aid wound repair.
