Retinoblastoma

Overview

A rare cancer developing from immature cells of the retina. It is the most common primary intraocular malignancy in children, with most cases found in children under three, and has a high cure rate.

Symptoms

• Leukocoria (white pupil)
• Strabismus
• Decreased vision
• Proptosis
• Red eye

Treatment

Common in children; treatment involves chemotherapy, local therapy, or surgery as a comprehensive plan. Specialist evaluation is required.

Ensure balanced nutrition, eat plenty of vitamin-rich foods, and strengthen nutritional support.
