Ichthyosis

Ichthyosis is a group of inherited disorders of keratinization characterized by dry, rough skin with fish-scale-like scaling. It usually appears in childhood, is most prominent on the extensor surfaces of the limbs, and typically worsens in winter and improves in summer.

Treatment
Management centers on consistent skin moisturizing and topical emollients and keratolytic agents to relieve dryness and scaling. Long-term skin care is required.
Dietary advice
Eat a balanced diet, take in more foods rich in vitamin A and healthy fats, and drink plenty of water.
