Cervical cancer is a malignancy arising in the cervix from abnormal cell growth that can invade or spread to other parts of the body. It is often asymptomatic in early stages, while advanced disease may cause abnormal vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain. More than 95% of cases are caused by sexually transmitted HPV infection, and it is the fourth most common cancer among women worldwide.

Treatment
Comprehensive treatment is undertaken after evaluation by a specialist. Early-stage disease is treated primarily with surgery, while intermediate to advanced disease may be managed with a combination of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy.
Dietary advice
Maintain balanced nutrition, ensure adequate high-quality protein and iron intake, eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and have small frequent meals.
