
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), also known as otolith disorder, is an inner ear condition causing recurrent brief episodes of vertigo triggered by head movement, often accompanied by nausea. Each episode usually lasts less than a minute, and it is the most common cause of vertigo.

Treatment
Treatment is mainly by canalith repositioning maneuvers, which relieve symptoms rapidly in most cases; vestibular rehabilitation may be added when needed.
Dietary advice
Eat regularly, avoid excessive hunger or fullness, reduce caffeine and alcohol, and maintain balanced nutrition.
