Glioma

Overview

The most common primary tumor of the central nervous system, originating from neuroglial cells. It grows invasively and can cause headache, vomiting, seizures, and neurological deficits, with a poor prognosis in high-grade cases.

Symptoms

• Headache
• Vomiting
• Seizures
• Limb weakness
• Decreased vision

Treatment

Treatment is mainly surgical resection, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy as a comprehensive plan. Specialist evaluation is required.

Dietary advice

Eat a light, balanced diet with adequate high-quality protein and calories, in small frequent meals, avoiding overeating.
