Meningioma

Overview

A slow-growing tumor arising from the meninges surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms depend on location, and many patients have no symptoms; most are benign.

Symptoms

• Headache
• Seizures
• Visual impairment
• Limb numbness
• Memory decline

Treatment

Most are benign; treatment is mainly surgical resection, with radiotherapy in some cases. Specialist evaluation is required.

Dietary advice

Eat a light, balanced diet ensuring adequate nutrition, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and keep a regular schedule.
