Overview

Constipation in children is a common symptom of reduced bowel movement frequency, hard stools, or difficulty passing stool, mostly caused by functional factors such as insufficient dietary fiber and fluid intake and poor toileting habits. Chronic constipation can lead to abdominal distension, poor appetite, and anal fissures.

Treatment
