Common Warts (Verruca Vulgaris)

Overview

Common warts are benign skin growths caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, appearing as small, rough, hard growths similar in color to normal skin. They typically occur on the hands and feet and are contagious, capable of spreading and recurring.

Symptoms

• Rough-surfaced papules
• Firm
• Papillomatous growth
• Single or multiple
• Common on hands and feet

Treatment

Caused by HPV infection; lesions can be removed with cryotherapy, laser, electrocautery, or topical caustic agents.

A balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to improve immunity.
