Overview

Vaginitis is inflammation of the vaginal mucosa caused by various factors and is a common gynecologic condition. Common types include bacterial vaginosis, vulvovaginal candidiasis (yeast infection), and trichomonas vaginitis, mainly presenting with abnormal discharge, vulvar itching, and a burning sensation.
