Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Overview

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized mainly by an inability to sustain attention, excessive activity, and impulsivity. Patients may also show age-inappropriate behavior, difficulty regulating emotions, and impaired executive function. For diagnosis, symptoms generally appear before age 12, last more than six months, and occur in at least two settings such as school and home.

Treatment
