Overview

Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterine cavity, causing chronic pelvic pain, painful periods, and often infertility. Lesions respond to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle, leading to inflammation and scarring in affected areas.
