
Thymoma

A tumor originating from thymic epithelial cells and the most common tumor of the anterior mediastinum. Many patients are asymptomatic at diagnosis, and some have paraneoplastic syndromes, most commonly myasthenia gravis.
Symptoms
- Chest tightness
- Chest pain
- Cough
- Myasthenia gravis
- Shortness of breath
Treatment
Treatment is mainly surgical resection, with radiotherapy or chemotherapy in some cases as a comprehensive plan. Specialist evaluation is required.
Dietary advice
Maintain balanced nutrition with adequate high-quality protein, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and a regular schedule.
