Lipoma

Overview

A benign tumor composed of fat, most often occurring in the subcutaneous tissue of the limbs and trunk. It is usually painless and grows slowly.

Symptoms

• Soft subcutaneous mass
• Well-defined border
• Movable
• Slow growth
• Usually painless

Treatment

A benign tumor; asymptomatic cases can be observed, while large ones or those affecting function are surgically removed. Specialist evaluation is required.

Maintain a balanced diet, control weight, and reduce intake of high-fat, high-calorie foods.
