Breast Fibroadenoma

Overview

Breast fibroadenoma is the most common benign breast tumor in women, caused by abnormal proliferation of fibrous and glandular tissue within the breast lobules and closely related to elevated estrogen levels. It is common in young women, presenting as a painless, well-demarcated, freely mobile breast lump with a very low rate of malignant transformation.

Symptoms

• Painless breast lump
• Firm consistency
• Well-defined borders
• Good mobility

Treatment

Small ones can be observed with regular follow-up; larger, rapidly growing, or otherwise indicated lumps can be surgically removed.

Dietary advice

Eat a bland, balanced diet, reduce high-fat and high-sugar foods, keep a regular routine, and avoid mood swings.
